studio gang lecture

Last week, Kurt and I went to Cooper Union for an Architectural League lecture by Jeanne Gang. Remember this building Kurt fell in love with during our Chicago trip? Well, the tower was built by her office, Studio Gang.  She gave a wonderful talk. A lot of her work is with IIT students, but she also has many built projects focusing on buildings and their relationship to the landscape and environment. Her work is incredibly well-rounded and thoughtful. I particularly enjoyed how down to earth she seemed. So many big time architects always act like they are the most intellectual person to ever walk the planet. It's refreshing to listen to someone with impressive work and an approachable demeanor. Definitely check out Studio Gang's work!

  1. Great to hear an architect speak so little about architecture and so much about the environment and about ecology. She's brilliant.
