weekend in review: crawfish edition

On Saturday, some friends hosted a huge crawfish boil in Greenpoint. They had 250 lbs of crawfish flown up from Louisiana for the event and boiled it up on site with Will's secret cajun recipe. Even though it rained on and off, forcing us to huddle under leaky tents, we ate tons of delicious food, drank some beer, and hung out playing cornhole on the sidewalk all afternoon. A little rain can't keep us down! Thanks to Pilar, Chris, and Will for planning such a great day!

Other weekend happenings:

Friday was rainy, so I convinced Kurt and a friend to see Divergent with me. I'm a few years behind the YA fiction trend and am just getting around to reading the books. The movie was exciting and action packed but not quite as good as the books (isn't that always the case?). It's always interesting to see what they choose to leave out or change in the story though.

It's been one whole year since Kurt and I moved into our apartment! We haven't killed each other or burned the place down, so I think we're doing pretty great. I guess I should do an update on the decor one of these days...

  1. That cookout looks intense! The rain was crazy on Saturday, but Sunday made up for the downpours. It was a perfect NYC day! Congrats on a year in your apartment. Time flies! Brian and I had our year anniversary of cohabiting in February and I still can't believe it has already been that long.
