This past weekend, some of Kurt's recent clients invited us to a barbecue in their newly finished courtyard. It was a building-wide party to celebrate the end of construction and was a great chance to see all the residents, kids, and dogs enjoying the space.
Kurt and I got up on the building's roof to get some pictures for their website. He couldn't have asked for a better day. The weather was beautiful and the courtyard was packed with happy, smiling people. Even better than a rendering!

A little piece of random trivia: Jay-Z used to live in this building. If you listen to Alicia Key's "Empire State of Mind", he mentions "560 State Street" and calls it his "stashbox". (I'll let you look that one up on Urban Dictionary). Apparently 15 years ago they would have some pretty crazy parties in that courtyard :)
Kurt and I had a blast talking with the residents who were all so appreciative of the space. The food was delicious and the grill masters are quite thrilled with their new outdoor kitchen setup. (Kurt was definitely having some Viking-envy!)
